Academic investing
Our portfolios are built on market research instead of forecasts. Three ideas do most of the work.
- Efficient markets. Prices move on news nobody can know ahead of time, so we don't try to guess what's next.
- Diversification. Spreading money across many asset classes can lower risk for the return you're aiming for.
- Factors. Research has identified premiums in certain parts of the market. We tilt our portfolios toward them.
Past performance does not guarantee future results. All investing involves risk, including loss of principal.
How we invest

Family strategy
A strategy is a few deliberate choices. We help you decide what your wealth is for and where to focus.
What is a family strategy?
The small set of choices that line your money up with the life you want: what you're saving for, how much risk to take, taxes, and the big decisions ahead.
How does it work?
We gather your information, look at where you are and where you're headed, and show you the options to get on your best path.

Short answers on the ideas behind how we invest.
What happens if you miss the stock market's best months?
$1,000 in US stocks from 2000 grew to $8,736 by mid-2026. Missing the best six months cut that to $5,699. See why the best stretches are hard to catch.
Why invest in international stocks when U.S. stocks have done so well?
From 2010 to 2025, business growth happened all over the world, and some of the fastest was outside the U.S. This compares earnings, book equity and prices by region.
Is gold a good hedge against inflation?
Gold is sold as an inflation hedge and a crisis shelter. Price history since 1970 and the 2026 market drop show how it has behaved on both counts.
Common questions
The things families ask us most before they get started.
How are you paid?
We're paid by our clients through advisory fees, and your fee is listed on your quarterly statement. We don't earn commissions on investments.
Where is my money held?
In accounts in your name at an independent custodian. We manage the investments, but we never take possession of your money.
Do I have to move everything to work with you?
No. We'll look at everything you have and talk through what makes sense to move and what to leave where it is.
What happens after I send my info?
An advisor near you reaches out, asks a few questions about your family, and answers yours. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so.
